About
Our California Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) Courses are designed to meet the training requirements set forth under California Penal Code § 26165 for the initial and renewal of a California CCW permit. These courses are intended for applicants completing either their initial CCW permit process or renewal through their local issuing agency within the State of California.
This is not simply a minimum qualification course. Our goal is to train and develop responsible, confident, and efficient concealed carriers who understand not only how to carry a firearm, but how to safely and effectively use it under stress and in real-world situations.
Courses begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and consist of classroom instruction, live-fire range training, practical drills, and firearms qualification exercises designed to build safe and effective concealed carry habits.
Throughout the course, students will receive instruction on the following:
-
Firearm safety and safe firearm handling
-
Shooting fundamentals and marksmanship
-
Drawing and presentation techniques
-
Concealed carry considerations and mindset
-
Safe storage and transportation of firearms
-
California laws regarding concealed carry and prohibited locations
-
Laws regarding the permissible use of force and lethal force in self-defense
-
Interacting with law enforcement while carrying
-
Mental health and mental health resources as required by California law
-
Live-fire exercises and firearms qualification with each firearm listed on the permit application
The course includes classroom instruction as well as live-fire range training designed to improve firearm handling, confidence, accuracy, and defensive firearm efficiency.
Students will train with the firearms they intend to place on their CCW permit and will be guided through practical drills intended to build safe and effective concealed carry habits, while also completing the qualification standards required by their issuing agency.
These courses satisfy the training requirements outlined under California Penal Code § 26165 for initial and renewal CCW applicants within the State of California.
